Character

The Kuvasz is one of the most intelligent dog breeds. It enjoys memorizing new commands, understanding humans and their behavioral cues. The Hungarian Kuvasz is also great at remembering new people and events around them.

The animal has its view of the world and everything that happens around it. Kuvasz treats each person differently. Often negative behavior toward humans is very noticeable.
To be a leader for a dog, you have to be a wise and reasonable owner.

The animal is loyal to the whole family. If anyone close to you is aggressive, the dog will protect you. But the Kuvasz is a noble breed of dog. The dog will attack and roll on the ground at a potentially dangerous person but will not bite or bark.

The Hungarian Kuvasz takes it hard to be separated from its owner.

With full exercise, Hungarian Kuvasz can be kept in the apartment. On walks, the dog is calm, ignoring other animals and people. But sometimes it can chase small animals and cats. Owners need to punish the dog for such behavior. But it should be remembered that physical force will not teach the dog how you can and cannot do.

Care

Kuvasz has a medium-length coat. It should be brushed twice a week. During the molting period – more often. The animal should be washed as it gets dirty, but not more often than once or twice a month.

The dog owner needs to keep his ears and his tooth clean.

Training

The Hungarian Kuvasz needs nurturing and socialization. The animal tends to be independent. This can play into the hands of inexperienced owners.

If the owner has a bad attitude, it is not necessary to start training. The dog has a very subtle feeling for humans. For practical training, you must have wisdom, patience and never be rude to the dog. Encouragement and intellectual stimulation are critical to good dog training.

Common Diseases

Kuvasz is prone to conditions such as osteochondrosis, hip dysplasia, and gastric torsion.

Nutrition

A dog as large as a cougar must have a balanced diet. But at the same time, dogs of this breed are unpretentious about food. Unlike other healthy and large species, the food portion of a Kuvasz can be much smaller.

If the owner has chosen to feed a by-product, then vegetables and cottage cheese should be added to the diet.

The Kuvasz must have constant access to clean drinking water.
