It turned out that the kitten was the owner of a special gene responsible for the azure color of the eyes.

Surprisingly, this breed had no connection with Siamese cats, which are known for their blue eyes. The Ojos Azules Longhair’s unusual eyes are the result of a mutation that started a new breed. The International Cat Fanciers Association adopted the Ojos Azules Longhair breed standard in 1991. The breed is quite rare and is best known in its home country in the United States.
