Origin History

The dogs originated in Germany, where they appeared about 300 years ago. It is not known precisely how this breed originated in Germany. However, some sources claim that the species was bred based on the English black and spotted terrier.

It is a misconception that the Miniature Pinscher (Zwergpinscher) evolved from the Dobermans; on the contrary – it is the Doberman bred after the Pinschers came along. These two breeds have a common relative, the smooth-haired German Pinscher. But in general, they have little in common.

From the beginning of their existence with humans, Zwergpinchers lived in stables, guarded the farm, caught rodents, and were beautiful helpers. Subsequently, they were also used as indoor pets in the home.

The Miniature Pinscher dogs were first introduced to the world in 1900 in Stuttgart during an exhibition.

Its modern name was given to the Zwergpincher in 1955. Now the dogs are trendy all over the world and are used as companions.

Appearance

The Miniature Pinscher is a slender, robust, and compact dog, approximately 25-30 cm tall and weighing 4-6 kg. The animal’s ears come in high and low, which are usually more extensive than the head. The eyes of the fosters are black, large, clearly defined. There is a beautiful curve on the neck.

The coat is shiny, smooth, tight to the body. Coloration can be only black and tan, and red. Earlier it was possible to still brown and papal, but now dogs with such color are bred only in America.
