apareci\u00f3 por primera vez en Estados Unidos en 1982. En una de las granjas de Dallas naci\u00f3 una inusual gatita calva. Decidieron quedarse con ella y la llamaron Kerli. Cuatro meses despu\u00e9s, la gata empez\u00f3 a tener el pelo rizado. El propietario se interes\u00f3 por el animal y comenz\u00f3 a cruzarlo con gatos Mensa y Siam\u00e9s. Como resultado, nacieron gatitos tan rizados como su madre. Esto indicaba la presencia del gen dominante y marcaba la aparici\u00f3n de una nueva raza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En 1987, el gato fue visto por primera vez en una exposici\u00f3n.
